Why the drive decides the day

Breivikeidet and Camp Aspemo: 50 to 60 minutes
The middle option, and where the flagship product runs: a 50-minute bus, forest trails and open fields with the Lyngen Alps in view, two people to a sled swapping musher and passenger halfway, then hot drinks and cake in a Sámi lávvu. Tamokdalen: 80 to 95 minutes
The full-day inland option. A 95-minute bus to Tamokhuset, then the group splits: half get gear, instruction and about three and a half hours of activity while the other half visit the dog yard, eat a hot meal and learn how the dogs are kept, then the two halves swap. The advanced product at Camp Tamok is a 90-minute bus and a much harder 6.5-hour day. Camp Tamok is roughly 100 km from town by road, though that is a traveller’s estimate — operators publish time, not distance.

Between 28 November and 14 January the sun does not rise here at all, and usable blue twilight runs roughly 09:00 to 14:00.
